In the first quarter of 2014, China's economy had a growth rate of 7.4% compared with last year, which is a decline compared to previous years. According to statistical figures from The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Chinese citizens will spend 635 billion Yuan travelling abroad this year, which is 3 times the amount in 2008. By 2024, the figure will reach 1.77 trillion Yuan. Building more airports and improving airspace management would mean good news for travelers weary of delays. Data from Flightstats shows the punctuality rate for flights originating in Beijing was only 18%, and 28% for Shanghai.
