RVSM working meeting held in Chengdu

The Southwest Region Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) Working Meeting was held on October 12 in Chengdu, with over 40 leaders and delegates attending. Officials and representatives came from the Southwest Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), its related Supervision Offices, Tibet Regional Administration, Southwest Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB), and several airlines. The meeting objectives were: improving rapport and creating harmonious relationships between the various offices involved, exchanging preparation ideas for the proper implementation of RVSM in the Southwest region, resolving perennial problems, and ensuring the successful implementation of RVSM in the region. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Ruiqing, vice director of the Southwest Regional ATMB. Gao Yi, Director of Southwest Regional ATMB and vice leader of the “Leading Group of Implementing RVSM” of the Southwest Regional Administration of CAAC, delivered a speech in which he expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the different offices in recent months and, at the same time, introduced the upcoming goals for the RVSM implementation in the Southwest region. The meeting provided an avenue for the attendees to report on both developments and problems encountered with regard to the implementation of RVSM, while 13 units, including the Southwest Branch Company of Air China, Yunnan Branch Company of Chin Eastern Airlines, West Air, and Guanghan Flight College presented reports on their preparation. The CAAC Regional Administration and its Supervision Offices provided recommendations and pertinent solutions to cope with the predicaments of RVSM implementation faced by each unit in China’s Southwest region.
