We welcome you to the 6th China General Aviation Forum
in Shanghai!

Dear fellow Aviation Professional:

The success of last year's China General Aviation Forum in Beijing was made possible because of YOU! The 5th rendition of the forum proved itself the most successful forum yet.

Once again, let your voices be heard and be a part of the one and only China General Aviation Forum 2008. We invite you to the much-awaited annual forum on Chinese general aviation. This time around, the backdrop will be the stunning Chinese city of Shanghai, the "Paris of the orient", on June 24 to 25, 2008.

General Aviation in China is inevitable. With the country's hosting of the Olympic Games in Beijing and World Expo in Shanghai, the country will witness the influx not only of passengers but the many private and business jets looking to knock on China's door. This occasion will undoubtedly give rise to private jets as an efficient travel tool for corporate executives and dignitaries alike.

Last February, while China celebrated its "Golden Week" festivities, the snowstorm calamity proved that the country's air emergency response and rescue capability are still in need of reinforcement. The country's civil aviation regulatory agencies are aware of the vital role of general aviation in situations like this, and yet, no concrete actions and definite time frame have been put into place.

In the current aviation landscape in China, there are many interesting issues yet addressed by the government. One such issue is across the Taiwan Strait. As Taiwanese businessmen continue to invest heavily in China, pressure is mounting for an easier way to cross the strait. While the possibility of scheduled direct commercial flight is uncertain, businessmen from both side of the strait are looking forward at the potential role general aviation will play in bridging the gap and bring forth lasting economic benefits. The prospect of linking China-Taiwan via general aviation flights remains possible with the business sector leading the way.

In the last two decades, China's aviation policymakers spent a great deal of time and resources in maintaining it's national security (use of air space) and aviation safety (air disasters), but general aviation development continues to lag behind. In order to fully complete the development of China's civil aviation, the need to strengthen all facets of its aviation sector must be realized, and this includes infusing a strong, motivated sense of self discipline into the entire general aviation sector.

This year's forum will serve as a catalyst to the China civil aviation industry regarding the importance of general aviation on its civil aviation development. We believe that the improvement of China's general aviation can only be achieved through motivated self- discipline based on knowledge and determination.

The China General Aviation Forum is an event unlike any other. Year after year, we bring together China's general aviation officials and fellow aviation professionals to actually bring about ideas that lead to change. This year, we invite you to share your ideas, concerns and knowledge to effectively gain their full support in realizing the vast potentials of China's general aviation market.
