Search

At 9 a.m. on April 10, 2009, three retired China Southern MD-82 aircraft (B-2139, B-2140, B-2151) took off at Phoenix Airport in Sanya and flew away into the distance.
After a two-day journey, the three aircraft landed smoothly at the Bulgarian capital Sofia Airport, marking it a successful sale of the aircraft to a foreign company. The three MD-82s sold came into service in October 1991 and December 1993. Together, they’ve logged a total of more than 40,000 hours and 25,000 cycles. The three aircraft were retired from service in late 2008 after years of smooth operations.
