Multi-runway operations discussed in symposium

The Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC) and the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) held the International Symposium for Multi-Runway Operation on June 24-26 in Tianjin.
More than 60 delegates from 20 organizations including Singapore Civil Aviation Authority, SAA, China air traffic management system, airports, and universities attended the symposium. Wong Woon Liong, senior consultant of Singapore Civil Aviation Authority and its former director, Xu Xiaohao, vice president of CAUC, spoke in the symposium. Oo Kah Wee, vice president of SAA, and Andrew Wee Aik San, air traffic expert of Changi International Airport, spoke on multi-runway operations. Vice Director Zhu Shixin of the East China Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and Yu Wenjun, party secretary of terminal control center, discussed narrow-distance runway operation. Delegates exchanged opinions on the current situation and the development of multi-runway operations in China and the rest of the world. The symposium was held as expansion is being implemented in various Chinese civil airports.
